Staff in Hotel 1988 Guanajuato
I believe this hotel deserves higher ratings. I read a review before choosing it, and although the hotel has many negative opinions, I find the location truly appealing. Situated on a hill, it may not be suitable if you have difficulty walking or dislike stairs, but it boasts a fantastic terrace with a pool, jacuzzi, and a beautiful city view. The Wi-Fi is good, breakfasts are decent, and while not extravagant, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and simple. One downside is that January, being the coldest month, resulted in chilly evenings in the rooms, but considering a nighttime temperature of 8 degrees, it seems normal. Overall, I genuinely rate this hotel positively.

Room was a good size and nice enough. Incredible view. Rooftop pool and spa was incredible so beautiful and the most amazing view also. Such a beautiful building and colourful and pretty. The staff were extremely nice and accomodating. A man carried our luggage single handedly up and down the stairs and many staff spoke English which helped minimise issues with our broken Spanish. They brought food to our room when asked and were very helpful. The cocktails are delicious and very well priced and ultimately everything is very well priced. Breakfast was also nice and free water bottles so we didn’t have to worry about buying filtered water.

The place has a wonderful terrace with a pool a hot tub, sauna, and a great view, staff is very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great! We booked a basic room without breakfast and got an upgrade offer at check in for 200 mxn for a room with terrace view and breakfast per night, we were 3 ppl, my wife my 1 year old son and I, so it was a great deal. It’s a full breakfast (bowl of fruit, coffee, flavored water, and the main dish) I recommend chilaquiles verdes and molletes with chorizo. House keeping everyday. In general it’s a great value for the money, great service and great view. Just needs some tiny improvements.

Daniel

I liked the view though it is very far from centre good food for breakfast buffet, but we were on a time where it seems a very big group of people were on a church celebration, and it was very unconfortable having breakfast with so much noise, we left early breakfast and hotel because it was very annoying

Paola

It was a beautiful location, an 18-minute walk from the historic center, although as it’s perched up on a hill, the walk back to the hotel was steep. I adored all of the staff and they were immediate in their response to any issue. I’ve never felt this kind of care when staying at previous hotels.
